Blake Snell ($9,000; 50.45 FPTS) had started 201 games and pitched a total of 1040.1 innings in his career prior to Friday’s start against the Reds. In those starts, Snell pitched at least seven innings in 24 games. He pitched into the eighth inning four times without making it to the ninth.
On Friday in Cincinnati, Snell got all 27 outs for the first time in his career. The 11 strikeouts were great and the three walks were expected in a Snell start, but he did what few Giants have done, which is throw a no-hitter. Snell became the 18th Giants pitcher to accomplish the feat.
For offense, Casey Schmitt ($2,700; 14 FPTS) hit a solo home run in the second inning. Tyler Fitzgerald ($4,700; 24 FPTS) had a RBI-double in the second inning then launched one into the left field seats for a solo shot in the seventh, as the Giants got the 3-0 win.
