Report: WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) could miss four to six weeks

Paul Kuharsky noticed Hopkins leaving Wednesday’s practice with a member of the Titans medical staff. He did not observe Hopkins walking with a limp, but on Thursday, he reported that Hopkins suffered a strained knee injury and could miss four to six weeks.

Hopkins could return in time for the season opener, but there is a chance that he won’t return until Week 3.

Last season, Hopkins started 16 of 17 games and received 137 targets, translating to 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns. He was the bonafide alpha, as no other wide receiver garnered more than 45 targets while TE Chigoziem Okonkwo received 77 targets.

The landscape is different in Tennessee heading into the 2024-25 season. Mike Vrabel is out as head coach and Derrick Henry signed with the Baltimore Ravens. The ground-and-pound ways have been replaced with a more air-centric attack, spearheaded by second-year quarterback Will Levis. The new head coach, Brian Callahan, was the offensive coordinator for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

While the acquisitions of Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd provide more competition for targets, the overall passing pie should increase with the Titans massively improving upon their 55.69% passing rate from last season, which ranked them 24th in the NFL.

Prior to the injury news, Hopkins had an ADP of 75.35 in DraftKings Best Ball contests.
