Report: DJ Moore agrees to extension with the Bears

Moore has agreed to a four-year, $110 million contract extension with the Bears, that includes $86.2 million guaranteed, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Last season, Moore finished with 96 catches, 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games. Notably, the receiver has exceeded 1,000 yards in three of his first five seasons in the NFL and he has been durable, playing in at least 15 games in every season of his career. As Chicago’s No.1 wideout last season, Moore handled the 12th highest target share among receivers at 28.5% and he generated an efficient 0.3 FPTS per snap.

The Bears finished 19th in PPG last season, but they are hoping to vastly in that department this season, with No.1 pick Caleb Williams at the helm. While the rookie’s presence will likely be a boost for Chicago’s offense as a whole, Moore’s usage may decline, with the Bears signing veteran Keenan Allen and a strong receiving back in Deandre Swift this offseason. Last year with the Chargers, Allen racked up 150 targets and finished fourth among receivers in target share at 32.1%.

With Williams under center for the Bears this coming season, the team is a -115 favorite to make the playoffs on the DraftKings Sportsbook, after Chicago finished 7-10 a year ago.
