Entering Friday’s game against the Braves, the Mets had won four straight and were half a game back of Atlanta. After Friday’s contest, the Mets have five on it and are now second in the NL East.
Kodai Senga ($9,000; 27.6 FTPS) made his season debut and was brilliant, striking out nine in 5.1 innings while walking one and allowing two earned runs on two hits. The only blemish was a two-run home run by Adam Duvall ($3,100; 30 FTPS) in the second inning. There’s no shame in that because Duvall was locked in on Friday, as he hit a solo shot in the ninth inning as well. Unfortunately, Senga injured his calf in the sixth inning and was removed from the game.
The Mets were uber-efficient on offense, scoring eight runs on eight hits. J.D. Martinez ($4,900; 26 FTPS) went 3-for-4 with a grand slam in the third inning. Mark Vientos ($4,400; 23 FTPS) went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and a walk. Francisco Alvarez ($4,300; 14 FTPS) hit a solo shot in the third inning for his lone hit on the night.
Marcell Ozuna ($5,800; 19 FTPS) hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for Atlanta.
