Julio Rodriguez (ankle) placed on 10-day IL

Rodriguez sprained his right ankle during Sunday’s win over the Astros and after missing Monday’s game, the outfielder has been placed on the 10-day IL. Rodriguez’s sprain is considered mild, so this hopefully will be a short stint on the IL for the 21-year-old. This news comes at an unfortunate time, as Rodriguez has been awesome as of late, with a .438 batting average and seven RBIs in his last 10 games. During this stretch, he has generated 10.1 DKFP per game.

With Rodriguez sidelined Tuesday, Victor Robles ($2,400) will start at centerfield and bat second vs. the Angels, which is one spot higher than he batted Monday with Rodriguez absent. Robles is in terrific form, with a .462 batting average in his last 10 games and he is a viable option at his low salary, despite the subpar matchup vs. Jose Soriano ($7,600), who possesses a 3.71 ERA this season. With Rodriguez unavailable going forward, Robles should continue to start at centerfield and see an optimal spot in the Mariners’ lineup. With Logan Gilbert ($10,000) on the mound for Seattle on Tuesday, the Mariners are a -155 ML favorite on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Gilbert has been sensational this season, with a 6-5 record, a 2.79 ERA – which ranks ninth in the MLB – and 124 strikeouts in 20 games. Gilbert presents the fourth-best odds to win the American League Cy Young award on the DraftKings Sportsbook at +1100 and while he will likely be popular, Gilbert is an appealing pitching target for Tuesday’s 11-game slate.
