Yes, the Super Bowl is a long while away. Yes, we’re still awaiting training camps and more offseason reports. But, while NFL athletes are strengthening their skills and preparing for the season, we can do the same. DraftKings Sportsbook provided these made-up odds for who could headline Super Bowl LIX on February 9th, 2025, so why not take a look at the possible electric performances we could see in the Superdome?

BREAKING DOWN THE ARTISTS
Let’s start with the longest odds here: British pop-sensation Harry Styles. With songs like “Watermelon Sugar” and “As It Was,” Styles no doubt could perform on one of the largest stages and capitate a crowd—however, his target audience typically consists of fans from the younger generation, rather than a vast range of football fans from Gen Z to the Boomers. If anything, Styles would have to be partnered with another artist to command the whole show.
Justin Bieber at +1400 odds, on the other hand, sounds more realistic with the longevity and reach of his career. From his first hits such as “Baby” and “Boyfriend” to his later collaborations with artists such as Travis Scott and DJ Khaled, Bieber has a widespread discography that is sure to entertain. However, and stay with me here, Bieber and his wife Hailey Bieber recently announced their pregnancy—while the due date is unknown, I could speculate Bieber would spend time with his newborn rather than preparing for a halftime performance.
Dua Lipa has an incredible stage performance. Plain and simple. With hits such as “Levitating” and “Houdini,” the UK pop star provides records that simply make fans want to sing and dance. With five top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100TM, I would not be surprised to see Lipa have even shorter odds than +1000 when the time comes around.
Let’s keep it rolling. Lil Wayne at +700 are odds I can get behind. Wayne is widely considered one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time, releasing of litany of timeless songs that are played in restaurants, bars, football stadiums, etc. “A Milli,” “How to Love,” and a multitude of features highlight Wayne’s discography, and his longevity in the rap game pulls in an audience ranging from Gen Z to Gen X. The most important thing to consider when deciding if Wayne could headline Super Bowl LIX is the fact that he is a certified cheesehead. The five-time Grammy Award winner publicly shares his allegiance to the Green Bay Packers, running out of the Packers tunnel last season and even releasing his own Green Bay anthem titled “Green and Yellow.” His ties to the NFL are enough to convince me he’s a serious option to headline the halftime show.
The shortest odds on this hypothetical chart belong to Miley Cyrus, the two-time Grammy Award winner who has gone through many transformations in her lifetime, but continues to stun with an incredible voice and jaw-dropping lyrics. Cyrus’ discography is headlined by hits such as “Flowers”, “We Can’t Stop,” “Malibu,” and of course, “Wrecking Ball.” Her hits reach a wild variety of listeners, and Cyrus has proven the ability to command such a large platform and put on a legendary performance—such as her most recent performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Plus, of the artists listed, I believe she has the best ability to perform solo and without the need of a partnering act.
Of course, these are hypothetical odds of artists to headline the Super Bowl, but this is our way of training for the action coming this football season. Could Taylor Swift be a possible option?
