The Minnesota Twins head west before the All-Star Break for a road series against the San Francisco Giants as they look to improve their playoff standing on Friday.

Minnesota Twins (-135, 7.5) vs. San Francisco Giants

Joe Ryan gets the pitching start and has a 3.29 ERA with 9.7 strikeouts to 1.3 walks per nine innings, but has an issue with giving up home runs.

This season, Ryan is allowing 1.3 home runs per nine innings overall, and for his career owns a road 4.06 ERA with 1.7 home runs per nine innings allowed.

For the Giants, Kyle Harrison gets the start on the mound, who enters having allowed at least four runs in four of his last five starts and at least three runs in six of his past seven starts with a 4.24 ERA for the season.

Behind Harrison, the Giants have a bullpen that entered Thursday ranked 23rd in the league with a 4.39 ERA while the Twins 3.56 ERA in the bullpen ranks eighth.

The lineup of the Twins has also done much of their damage on the road, ranking fifth in the league with over 4.9 runs per game with nearly five runs per game in while also ranking fifth in home runs per game.

With the Giants just 21st in home runs per game but 14th in run production with over 4.4 runs per game, Friday sets up to be a hard-hitting series opener.
