The Pick: American League moneyline -122
I think the American League gets back on track after having their nine year win streak snapped last year. Granted, Paul Skenes is starting the game for the National League and that’s a daunting task to overcome, but the lineup for the American League is a nightmare. I mean you have Vlad Guerrero Jr, Adley Rutschman and Marcus Semien as your seventh, eighth and ninth hitters. And let’s not take away from Corbin Burnes starting for the American League either. He comes into this game with a 2.43 ERA and a 3.36 FIP through 118.2 innings pitched. He’s also been exhibiting some of the best control of his career with just a 1.9 BB/9. I simply think the American League has way more fire power offensively for the National League to overcome, thus I’ll be putting my money down on the AL to once again reign supreme.

The Pick: Mason Miller to record 2+ strikeouts thrown
Now, of course, there is NO guarantee that Miller makes it into the game. However, if I had to guess, Bruce Bochy is going to want to showcase the dynamic reliever in his division. I don’t think I have to tell you about the stuff that Miller throws, which has given him a ridiculous 15.8 K/9 through 39.2 innings. Inducing at least two strikeouts, even in an inning of work, has been a piece of cake for Miller. He’s earned this mark in 23 of the 33 appearances he’s made this season. In fact, Miller has at least a strikeout in all but TWO appearances on the YEAR. If Miller is in this game, I’m expecting a big inning from him on the biggest stage he’s been on in his young career.
