Group C Standings
Uruguay, 3-0-0, 9 points, +8 GD

United States, 1-0-2, 3 points, 0 GD
Bolivia, 0-0-3, 0 points, -9 GD
Group C Results
USA 2, Bolivia 0
Things started off with a bang for the Americans courtesy of Christian Pulisic, who’s shot took a favorable deflection off the keeper’s glove and the post to give the hosts a 1-0 lead in the third minute. Young phenom Folarin Balogun added a second goal just before halftime and USA cruised to victory from there. Bolivia’s 17 fouls did not rattle the Americans at all, and the South American side simply didn’t get enough breaks to find the back of the net.
Uruguay 3, Panama 1
Uruguay scored a brilliant goal early courtesy of Maxi Araujo and should’ve likely had at least two more goals in the first half. Darwin Nunez missed a few easy chances and Uruguay’s front line strayed offside many times. This was still a 1-0 game until the final minutes, with Nunez finally getting on the board before the teams traded goals in stoppage time. Uruguay jumps ahead of USA for now thanks to more goals scored.
Panama 2, USA 1
The Americans went down to 10 men in the 18th minute due to a reckless challenge from Tim Weah but still took the lead thanks to a wonderful goal from Folarin Balogun. Panama equalized shortly after that and it appeared to have a shot at the lead on a penalty call late in the second half. VAR overturned the foul but Panama would eventually find a winner thanks to star forward Jose Fajardo in the 83rd minute. There was a skirmish late and USA had a few chances in stoppage time but ultimately lost. Now the Americans likely have to win Monday to secure a spot in the knockout stage.
Uruguay 5, Bolivia 0
This was all Uruguay for the duration of the match. The favorites to win this group got things started in the eighth minute courtesy of Facundo Pellistri and never looked back. Darwin Nunez, Maxi Araujo and Federico Valverde all found the back of the net as Uruguay clinched a spot in the knockout round.
Panama 3, Bolivia 1
Panama got the lead early courtesy of star striker Jose Fajardo, but Bolivia did make things interesting in the second half with Bruno Miranda finding an equalizer. Panama would quickly add a goal to take the lead. They put some insurance on that lead with another goal in stoppage time to secure a win and a spot in the knockout round.
Uruguay 1, USA 0
There will be some controversy on Uruguay’s goal, as Mathias Olivera certainly appeared to be offside on the initial shot before putting the deflection home for the only score of the game. There was little desperation from the Americans, who appeared to be ready to play for a draw and hope the other result when their way. They only managed three shots on target, and now the future of Gregg Berhalter will be the big subject of conversation as the hosts flame out of Copa America 2024.
