Euro 2024 is moving on to the business stage of the competition, more familiarly known as the knockout round. The top two teams in each group have secured their spot in the round of 16, along with the top four third-place teams from the group stage. Here’s a look at how the bracket is set up for the knockout stage and how bettors should approach futures odds based on the potential matchups.
Euro 2024 knockout stage bracket
Spain vs. Georgia
Germany vs. Denmark
Portugal vs. Slovenia
France vs. Belgium
Romania vs. Netherlands
Austria vs. Turkey
England vs. Slovakia
Switzerland vs. Italy
If you’ve backed Spain or Germany in the futures market, it’s not a great setup given the two sides are likely to meet in the quarterfinal round. However, the winner is a semifinalist and two wins away from paying off. Spain is +450 at DraftKings Sportsbook to win it all, while Germany is next at +500. England comes in as the favorite at +400 despite some poor performances in the group stage. England could have a rematch of the 2021 final with Italy in the quarterfinal round, but the top half of the bracket is certainly more stacked than the bottom half.
Spain, Germany, France, Belgium and Portugal are all fighting for quarterfinal spots, with France and Belgium playing each other in the round of 16. England will only have to worry about one of Switzerland and Italy, while Netherlands don’t present much of a challenge given their Euro history and group play. Austria (+1600 to win) is likely the biggest threat to England, which is much less of a test than what the finalist from the top half of this bracket will face.
