The DFS day starts with a Fantasy F1 Sunday morning slate on DraftKings. When the Sun comes up, the lights go out for the Aramco Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

1. Max Verstappen ($15,000) — The concern is not whether Verstappen will win a Grand Prix. That’s a given. Water is wet. The concern is Verstappen’s DFS F1 viability. His salary is a steal this week. Max was an optimal DFS F1 pick at $16,600 (Imola) and $15,600 (Canada).
2. Lando Norris ($11,200) — McLaren has established itself as the No. 2 Formula 1 constructor. Norris is the No. 2 driver. They’re not just runner-ups. They’re a threat to take the top step of the podium from Verstappen.
3. Oscar Piastri ($10,200) — Several drivers can lay claim to this spot. Ferrari has hit hard times and Mercedes is on the rise. McLaren and Piastri have been here all season —consistency matters.
4. Charles Leclerc ($10,600) — A strong argument can be made that Leclerc is still the second-best driver in F1. He won the Monaco Grand Prix and his average finish is the second-best. Unfortunately, the Canadian Grand Prix was a disaster. It can’t be ignored.
5. Carlos Sainz ($9,000) — Ferrari was set up to be contenders in the Canadian Grand Prix. They were a no-show. That’s worrisome moving forward. Looking backward, Sainz has a top-5 finish in every other race this season.

6. George Russell ($8,600) — The much anticipated Mercedes’ upgrades lived up to expectations in the Canadian Grand Prix. Russell won the pole and was nearly the runner-up. He settled for third. He could move up the podium in Round 10 at Barcelona.
7. Lewis Hamilton ($7,600) — The Silver Arrows are back. This may not be a lame-duck season for Hamilton. It appears there is still gas left in his tank. Hamilton’s fourth-place finish in Canada was his best of the season.
8. Fernando Alonso ($6,600) — Aston Martin is a distant fourth. They’re better than the mid-pack but nowhere near the top-4 teams. This is Alonso’s home race. The Spanish superstar could have a few surprises up his sleeve.
9. Valtteri Bottas ($3,800) — DraftKings DFS F1 is not about who is the best. Fantasy Formula 1 focuses on funds. Who’s the best bang for the buck? A Kick Sauber driver has been in the optimal lineup in six straight races and eight of 10 GPs. Bottas was an optimal DFS F1 pick in the last two races.
10. Pierre Gasly ($4,000) — The ghastly nightmare is over. Gasly may not be living the dream, but the Alpine driver earned a spot in the winning DraftKings fantasy lineup for the Monaco Grand Prix and the Canadian Grand Prix.
