Best Mavericks player prop bets to consider for Game 5 of 2024 NBA Finals vs. Celtics

The Dallas Mavericks avoided a sweep in the 2024 NBA Finals with a massive win over the Boston Celtics in Game 4 but will now have to go on the road to keep the matchup alive for at least one more contest. Dallas has won a road game in every series these playoffs except for the Finals, so there’s a good opportunity Monday night to keep that streak going.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite Mavericks player props for Game 5, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Luka Doncic under 7.5 assists (+120)

Doncic has gone under this line in three of the four games, including Game 4 where Dallas’ role players were hitting shots at a much higher clip. Those same role players are likely to struggle on the road, which means less chances for Doncic to rack up assists. The Mavericks star guard has continued to hoist shots at an insane rate and that’s unlikely to change. The Celtics have generally been good at limiting assists this series and should continue to contain Doncic on that front Monday night.

Kyrie Irving under 23.5 points (-102)

We all know about Irving’s struggles in Boston. He combined for just 28 points in the first two games at TD Garden, shooting under 40% from the floor in both games. Irving did bounce back offensively in Games 3 and 4 but the shift back to a hostile road environment will likely cause him more problems. It’s hard to tell what exactly goes wrong for Irving whenever he plays in Boston but he has been poor offensively in that building as a member of the road team for so long it’s hard to just chalk this stuff up to natural shooting fluctuations. I’ll take the under on his points prop tonight.

Daniel Gafford over 4.5 rebounds (+114)

Dallas’ starting big man has only gone over this line once in the Finals, logging nine rebounds in Game 2. This has been the only series where the Mavericks haven’t gotten strong rebounding showings from Gafford, as he was going over this line fairly easily in the previous playoff series. Even though the Celtics should be better on the glass at home, the Mavericks know they’ll need a strong effort there to stay in the series. I do think Gafford is more aggressive on the boards and should get over what is a relatively low prop line for a starting center.
