Fantasy Football Rankings: DraftKings 2024 Best Ball Tight End Rankings 1-30

It’s officially the best time of the year, as NFL Best Ball is back on DraftKings.

This format gives players a chance to draft a fantasy football team for a season-long competition that requires no active in-season management, but still provides a full season of drama and competition.

Below I have ranked my top 30 tight ends for the 2024 DraftKings NFL Best Ball season.

3. Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills

The Bills traded Stefon Diggs to Houston and let Gabe Davis walk in free-agency, opening up a ton of targets in the WR room for 2024. Now, they did draft Keon Coleman in the second round of the draft, but the Florida State product does not really have the profile of a massive target earner.

Enter Kincaid, who should become the de facto WR1 for the Bills in 2024. Kincaid had a solid enough rookie campaign, catching 73 passes for 673 yards on 93 targets. All of those numbers should rise this upcoming season, for team that ranked 10th in the NFL in pass rate over expectation in 2023.

Obviously, for Kincaid to pay off this TE3 tag, he’s going to have score more than two touchdowns like he did last year. However, his voluminous role in this offense will pay massive dividends on DraftKings, where we get one point per reception.

After Kelce and LaPorta are off the board, I believe Kincaid has the highest floor/ceiling combination of all remaining tight ends. Mark Andrews is coming off a serious leg injury from last year, and the Cardinals drafted a generational WR prospect in Marvin Harrison Jr.

Kincaid is going to eat in 2024.

8. Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars

If you are looking for bankable target volume, look no further than Engram, who lapped all tight ends in targets in 2023. Engram saw 143 of them, which was 16 better than the next closest TE (T.J. Hockenson). He turned that into a whopping 114 receptions, which ranked fourth in the NFL among all pass catchers, behind only CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Unfortunately, his aDOT was so low that he only posted 963 yards and four touchdowns on that volume.

Engram still finished 2023 as the TE2, ranking behind only Sam LaPorta. The outlook really has not changed much for him in 2024 either, as the Jaguars replaced Zay Jones and Calvin Ridley with Gabe Davis and rookie Brian Thomas Jr.

I have Engram ranked as the TE8 this year, but you can argue that’s fairly conservative since he’s become such a security blanket for Trevor Lawrence. I simply prefer to prioritize weekly ceiling, which will be paramount once we hit the best-ball playoffs, where you’re trying to finish first or second in your pod. Guys like George Kittle, Mark Andrews and Kyle Pitts all have slate breaking potential, which is why I have them ranked ahead of Engram.

Nonetheless, Engram remains a rock-solid draft pick in the seventh round this year.

19. Hunter Henry, New England Patriots

Henry is not particularly flashy, but he’s super cheap right now and there are legit paths where he could be the No. 1 target on his offense. The Patriots pass catching group consists of two rookies — Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker — along with the uninspiring DeMario Douglas and Kendrick Bourne who’s coming off a torn ACL.

It also appears that Jacoby Brissett will be the starting QB for the Pats to begin the season, which should stabilize the floor for Henry. It is extremely reasonable to think he could repeat the year he had in his first season in New England, where he caught nine touchdowns and posted 603 receiving yards. At an ADP of 172, you’re taking on virtually zero risk.

Another thing I love to do, is stack him up late with Drake Maye and some of the other cheap pass catchers on this offense, just in case the No. 3 overall pick breaks out in the second half of the season.

23. Tyler Conklin, New York Jets

This one should not be overly complicated, because Aaron Rodgers will be back under center in 2024. I think people forget amidst all of his off-the-field shenanigans, just how efficient this man is, and just how well he elevates all of his pass catchers. Just take a look back to the 2020 season, where Robert freaking Tonyan caught 11 touchdowns from A-Rod.

Tyler Conklin is a far superior player than Tonyan was, and had about as good of a 2023 season you could have while attempting to catch passes from Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle. Conklin somehow caught zero touchdowns, but still finished with 61 receptions and 621 yards.

The Jets beyond Garrett Wilson have some serious question marks at wide receiver, as Mike Williams is coming off a torn ACL, while Malachi Corley is a third-round rookie. There could be plenty of room for Conklin to absolutely cook this season, and he’s a really nice late TE option at his 16th-round ADP.
