The Dallas Mavericks will look to level the NBA Finals Sunday evening when they face the Boston Celtics in Game 2. Dallas is hoping to rebound after a disappointing effort in Game 1 where the team lost 107-89. Here’s a look at some of our favorite player props for Game 2 involving the Mavericks with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kyrie Irving over 2.5 3-pointers (+105)
Irving had an uncharacteristically poor performance from beyond the arc in the series opener, missing all five of his attempts from the perimeter. However, he entered the Finals shooting better than 40% from behind the arc. Irving has struggled to overcome the hostility of the Boston crowd, which continues to rile him up after he spurned the Celtics many seasons ago. However, I think the overall trend of the postseason will hold for Irving and he should be able to shoot the ball better from the perimeter tonight.
Luka Doncic under 8.5 assists (-145)
Taking the under on any prop involving Doncic is risky, given he’s a walking triple-double. However, he has been unable to log high assist numbers in these playoffs and his teammates have not done him any favors on that front. Doncic only logged one assist in the series opener and has generally been more focused on scoring. He’s gone under this line in three of the last four games and while I don’t believe he’ll only get one assist in Game 2, I do think Doncic will once again stay under on his assist prop.
P.J. Washington over 5.5 rebounds (-150)
Washington’s shooting has cooled off since the beginning of the Thunder series, but his rebounding has remained a factor throughout the postseason. The forward has gone over this mark in three of the last four games and more importantly, has only registered less than five rebounds once in these playoffs. The Celtics dominated the glass in the opener and the Mavericks will look to correct that tonight, with Washington being a big factor there. He should go over this line.
