The Friday night WNBA slate will feature the Indiana Fever hitting the road to battle the Washington Mystics in a Commissioner’s Cup contest. The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will air on Ion.
Indiana (2-9) is back in action for the first time since Sunday, where it was obliterated in a 104-68 blowout loss to New York. The Fever were playing the second game of a back-to-back and were outclassed by the Liberty from the opening tip. The game was notable for Caitlin Clark being held to just three points on 1-10 shooting for the entire game. Both her and Aliyah Boston left the game in the fourth quarter due to various injuries.
Washington (0-10) is coming off a 79-71 loss to Chicago last night and remains the only winless team in the league. The Mystics actually led by nine points at halftime only to watch Chennedy Carter and Angel Reese lead the Sky on a swift comeback in the third quarter. Rookie Aaliyah Edwards had a career night with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks in the loss.
On the injury front, Shakira Austin (hip) is questionable for the Mystics for tonight’s game.
Indiana enters the game as a 2.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, accompanied by a total of 162. The Fever are listed as a -148 favorite, making the Mystics a +124 underdog.

Indiana has had an incredibly front-loaded schedule through the first month of the regular season, but has actually had some time to rest and regroup heading into this matchup. If the Fever want to get into a rhythm, then there’s no better opponent to do it against than a Mystics team that ranks near the bottom of the league in several categories like field goal percentage (39.8%). Another tidbit to note is that road teams in the WNBA are 34-20-1 against the spread so far this year, so I’ll take Indy to easily cover this evening.

Indiana and Washington have had two of the worst defenses in the league so far as both are allowing opponents to shoot over 45% from the field while yielding over 82 points per game. However, the Mystics have struggled mightily on offense as there have been nights where only one starter will crack double digits in points. For that reason, I’ll lean towards the under cashing for tonight’s contest.
