The Cincinnati Reds entered Tuesday ranked last in the National League Central and are looking to wrap up their series on the road against the Colorado Rockies with a win on Wednesday.

Starting at pitcher for the Rockies is Dakota Hudson, who enters having allowed three runs or fewer in four straight starts. But, he could see that streak snapped with the amount of contact he allows on a regular basis.
Hudson is getting only 4.9 strikeouts per nine innings while issuing 4.6 walks per nine innings. His ERA ticks up to 7.43 at Coors Field with more walks than strikeouts recorded at home this season.
Colorado backs up Hudson with a bullpen that entered Tuesday ranked last in ERA with a mark of 5.12, with no other MLB team north of a 4.80 ERA. The Reds ranked 13th with a 3.67 ERA.
That Reds’ bullpen will be on call to help starting pitcher Graham Ashcraft, whose 4.76 ERA aligns with his 4.86 fielding independent, totaling 7.2 strikeouts with 3.2 walks and 1.4 home runs per nine innings. But, he has been at his best on the road.
Ashcraft’s ERA balloons to 7.11 at home while being a solid 3.11 on the road with three runs or fewer allowed in all seven of his road starts this season.
The Rockies lineup is averaging a full run per game more at home than on the road with just under (4.7 runs per game compared to 3.6 runs per game) but rank just 26th in home runs per game and getting just 0.9 home runs per game at home.
With the Reds averaging more than a half run more on the road than at home this season with over 4.5 runs per game away from home entering Tuesday, they will close out this series with a win on Wednesday.
