1. Martin Truex Jr ($10,500) — The King of Wine Country is Martin Truex. He’s won three of the last five road races at Sonoma and led over 50 laps in each win. In the last seven at Sonoma, he has five top-5 finishes.
2. William Byron ($10,200) — For years, Byron was on the verge of a road course breakthrough. It happened at the end of 2023. He won at Watkins Glen and was the runner-up at the Roval. He opened the 2024 road course calendar with a win at COTA.
3. Kyle Larson ($10,000) — The California kid won at Sonoma during his championship season of 2021. Since NASCAR switched to the NextGen car, Larson has one win at a road course (Watkins Glen 2022).
4. Christopher Bell ($9,800) — In 2021, Bell won the Daytona Road Course race. He won at the Roval in Charlotte in 2022. He came up empty in 2023, but he’s off to a good start on the road in 2024. He was the runner-up at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
5. Chris Buescher ($8,600) — When will the win come? Buescher nearly won the 2022 Sonoma race (runner-up). From 2022 to the present (13 races), Buescher has finished 11th or better in 12 races.

6. Ross Chastain ($8,300) — Testing matters. Sonoma was repaved. Chastain participated in the tire test earlier this season. He unloads with a notebook this weekend. Chastain is a more than adequate road-course driver (2022 COTA winner).
7. Ty Gibbs ($9,000) — The trajectory of the line graph is pointed upward. Gibbs closed 2023 with top-5 finishes in the final two road-course races. He opened 2024 with a podium at COTA.
8. Tyler Reddick ($9,500) — Is his run over? Reddick was the hottest road racer in the industry. There was talk that he could be better than Chase Elliot. No one’s talking now. Reddick has not won at a road course since the 2023 COTA race. He does have four top-10 finishes since that race.
9. Chase Elliott ($9,300) — It’s been a while since his last road-course win (Road America 2021). That drought could come to an end soon. In five road course races in 2023, Elliot earned three top-5 and four top-10 finishes.
10. Kyle Busch ($7,700) — This season has been a struggle. Busch and the No. 8 RCR Chevy have potential. They just haven’t capitalized. Sonoma could be the turnaround. Busch was the runner-up at Sonoma in 2023. He earned four road-course top-5 finishes last season.
11. Michael McDowell ($8,500) — The Front Row Motorsports Fords are top-tier cars. McDowell is a top-tier road-course racer. He’s earned top-10 finishes in the last two Sonoma races.
12. A.J. Allmendinger ($8,800) — The Dinger isn’t just a ringer. He’s won road races outside of the Xfinity Series. Allmendinger won the Cup Series Indy GP in 2021 and at the Roval in 2023.
13. Denny Hamlin ($9,200) — It appears that Hamlin has given up on road course racing. From 2022 to the present (13 races), Hamlin has one top-10 finish (second at Watkins Glen 2023).
14. Austin Cindric ($8,200) — This isn’t the Xfinity Series. The Cup Series competition knows how to road race. Cindric was uncharacteristically terrible at Sonoma last season. If he has a competitive car — like last week — then he can earn a top-5 finish.
15. Josh Berry ($5,800) — Stewart-Haas Racing is not in great shape. Berry is a late-model racer who honed his skills on short tracks. Why is he a NASCAR DFS value pick? Berry is one of three drivers that participated in the tire test at Sonoma earlier this season.
