The New England Patriots head into the 2024 season with a new head coach for the first time in over two decades. Jerod Mayo takes over this year as the Bill Belichick dynasty comes to an end, and the Pats are looking for a fresh start in more ways than one. They traded away Mac Jones, signed Jacoby Brissett, and drafted Drake Maye. This offseason, they lost RB Ezekiel Elliott and WR DeVante Parker but signed RB Antonio Gibson and WR KJ Osborn.

Here’s a look at the projected offensive depth chart for the 2024 New England Patriots following the 2024 NFL Draft.

Biggest offensive NFL Draft additions

The Patriots used the third overall pick of the NFL Draft to select quarterback Drake Maye out of North Carolina. Maye passed for 4,321 yards, 38 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 2022 and 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 2023. He is listed behind Jacoby Brissett on the depth chart, but could still become the starter in 2024. New England also selected wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk out of Washington in the second round. Polk finished the 2023 season with over 1,100 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. They continued to fill out their offensive line in the third and fourth rounds.

Player most impacted by NFL Draft for fantasy football

The Patriots signed Jacoby Brissett to a one-year contract in the 2024 offseason, but his current status as a starter is in jeopardy. The Patriots could decide at any point that they want to start Drake Maye. Similarly, backup Bailey Zappe, who was always in contention to see playing time behind Mac Jones, will likely be benched for most of the season.

In terms of wide receivers, Polk’s status as a starter will likely take targets away from JuJu Smith-Schuster and KJ Osborn, lowering their fantasy potential for the 2024 season.
