While Monday is a travel day or scheduled day off for several teams, Major League Baseball still has a solid eight-game fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings. The action is scheduled to get underway at 6:40 p.m. ET when the Brewers visit the Phillies. The earlier start time also allows the Mets-Nationals matchup to be on the main slate as one of three divisional contests. There are weather concerns to monitor for both those early starts but the rest of the night takes place mostly in domes with the notable exception of the Reds visiting the Rockies at Coors Field. With the elevation boosting both offenses, you’ll want to be sure to have some exposure to that game on your squad.
If you are running short on salary, these three value plays are good options to consider since they bring good upside at their very affordable salaries. They can help balance your spending as you look to start the work week with a fantasy baseball win.

SP Tylor Megill, New York Mets at Washington Nationals, $7,200
Megill has made two strong starts since returning from a shoulder strain, and he has looked good in both outings even though he is still searching for his first win. He had seven strikeouts in five innings against the Guardians and followed that with an extremely impressive start against the Dodgers, allowing just three hits in seven scoreless innings while striking out nine. Even though he had a no-decision in that start after the bullpen blew the game, he earned 31.4 DKFP after posting 17.7 DKFP in his return from injury. Megill got 32 called or swinging strikes in his last start and has totaled 20 strikeouts in his 16 innings for an 11.25 K/9. Even in his four rehab appearances, he racked up 23 strikeouts in just 14 innings. Megill’s matchup is a good one too since the Nats have scored the fourth-fewest runs in the MLB this season by only hitting .230 as a team with a .293 team wOBA and 89 wRC+. Those numbers each rank in the bottom seven in the MLB. Megill is a great bargain with a high ceiling in this matchup due to his strikeout potential.
1B Daniel Vogelbach, Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles, $2,900
Vogelbach went just 4-for-37 (.108) while making sporadic appearances over the first six weeks of the season, but he has turned things around over his last eight games, going 9-for-20 (.450) with three doubles, a home run and a .526 wOBA. Vogelbach had back-to-back multi-hit games over the weekend against his former team, the Pirates, and he will look to keep rolling as the Jays welcome in the Orioles and take on Grayson Rodriguez ($9,400), who has been good at home but has a 5.24 ERA, 4.08 FIP and 1.69 WHIP on the road. Vogelbach could get more playing time if Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($4,700) sees more playing time at 3B, leaving 1B for Vogelbach and Justin Turner ($3,700) to fill along with the DH spot. When he’s hot, Vogelbach has provided plenty of power in his career, and getting him under $3,000 on Monday makes him a nice bargain target.
3B Donovan Solano, San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Angels, $2,800
On the other corner of the infield, Solano has been heating up for the Padres and helping fill in since the injury to Xander Bogaerts (shoulder). The 36-year-old veteran hit .318 with a .380 wOBA in his 12 games at Triple-A to start the year, but he has been even better since being called up to join the Padres. In his 17 games, he is hitting an impressive .404 (19-for-47) with three doubles, a home run and a .443 wOBA. Throughout his career, Solano has been a batting-average producer, even though he doesn’t typically offer a ton of power. He does make consistent contact, though, and has hit safely in six straight games with four multi-hit games during that span. Against lefties like Tyler Anderson ($7,800), Solano is hitting .419 with a .459 wOBA this season, and his consistent contributions make him a relatively low-risk option at 3B, who can deliver good numbers from under $3,000.
