The Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks face off Tuesday evening in Game 4 of the 2024 Western Conference Finals with the home team looking to complete a sweep and advance to the NBA Finals. The Timberwolves will hope to play at least one more game in front of their home fans and try to avoid a sweep, but they’ve been unable to close out games in this series so far. These contests have been tight, with only 13 points separating Minnesota and Dallas across all three games combined.
Mike Conley is “questionable” for the Timberwolves. Dereck Lively is doubtful after suffering a neck injury in Game 3, but Maxi Kleber has been upgraded to questionable and could return. Luka Doncic is officially being listed as “questionable” but he’s going to play.
The Mavericks are 2-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook with the total coming in at 210.5. Dallas is -130 on the moneyline while Minnesota is +110.

For some reason, the Timberwolves cannot seem to close out games in this series. The Mavericks have been able to rely on Doncic and Kyrie Irving to carry them offensively but they’ve also made some important defensive plays to preserve their wins. Dallas’ comeback win in Game 2 appears to have broken Minnesota’s spirit a bit, and the Game 3 victory late has all but sealed the series win. The Timberwolves have been quickly humbled after their elimination of the defending champions in the previous round and I don’t know how much fight they’ll have on the road in Game 4. Give me the Mavericks to win tonight and advance to the Finals.

All three games in this series have gone over this number. Even though both teams have been very solid defensively, these totals have come in quite low. With all these contests being decided in the final minutes, there’s enough overall scoring to push the total over the line. I’ll take that to happen once again in Game 4.
