On Monday, Major League Baseball has a jam-packed schedule all day long to help celebrate Memorial Day. The main slate on DraftKings begins at 1:05 p.m. ET and includes the eight games that are scheduled to start between then at 4:10 p.m. ET. Among the eight games are five divisional matchups, including the Cubs visiting the Brew Crew and the Nats in Atlanta to take on the Braves. In another key fantasy matchup, the Guardians are facing the Rockies at Coors Field, where there is expected to be plenty of fireworks to celebrate the holiday. Hopefully, there’s no rain on anyone’s parade this Monday, but there is a chance some falls on these games, so keep a close eye on the forecast as we approach game time.

SP Alec Marsh, Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins, $8,000
I’d love to go cheaper, but all the options under $8,000 on this slate are pretty scary. Marsh has been very good for the Royals this season and is worth spending just a little more on to get the added consistency. The 26-year-old is 4-1 in his eight starts and has averaged 16.3 DKFP per start—the fourth-most of the 16 expected starting pitchers. He has a 2.72 ERA and 3.27 FIP with 36 strikeouts in 43 innings, all of which are dramatic improvements on his marks from last season when he went 3-9 in 17 games. Marsh has posted over 17 DKFP in three straight games and four of his last five, highlighted by a 25.2-DKFP start against the Orioles—a team that has a power-packed, but strikeout-prone lineup. Marsh hasn’t faced Minnesota this season, but he has been very effective on the road with 21 strikeouts in 22 1⁄3 road innings. He had strong starts against the Angels and Mariners on the road since returning from a quick stop on the IL due to a bruised elbow suffered on a comebacker against the Blue Jays. Even the time off wasn’t able to slow his breakout season, and he’ll look to keep it rolling as long as the weather cooperates at Target Field on Monday afternoon.
2B/3B Andruw Monasterio, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs, $2,700

Monasterio didn’t appear in the Brewers’ three-game series in Boston this weekend since the Red Sox started three right-handed pitchers. However, in the Marlins series earlier in the week, the Brewers faced three lefties and Monasterio started each of the three games. He even hit leadoff in the final two of those contests. While he is only hitting .154 (4-for-26) on the season, three of his hits came against the Marlins when he went 3-for-10 (.300) with a 44.4% hard-hit rate. Monasterio homered in one of those games and had 17 DKFP, following that up with a stolen base and 14 DKFP the next game. He brings both power and speed potential if he’s back in the lineup against lefty Justin Steele ($7,000). Steele has given up 16 runs in 16 innings over his last three starts, including six home runs allowed. The Brewers are a solid stack to consider and are home in their dome, so there are no weather issues. Especially if he’s in the leadoff spot, Monasterio has a very high ceiling and can fit either at 2B or 3B at under $3,000.
OF Jacob Hurtubise, Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinals, $2,500
The Reds have been using Hurtubise as their leadoff hitter against righties, and he’ll likely be on top of the order when they host Lance Lynn ($7,200) and the Cards. Hurtubise only played nine games in the minors this year but hit a home run, stole two bases and had six runs scored in 29 at-bats. In his 11 games with the Reds, he is 7-for-25 (.280) with a double and a stolen base. He has hit safely in four straight games with two games of double-digit DKFP. In a favorable matchup and likely at the top of the lineup, he should be a great bargain in the OF at only $2,500.
