The Minnesota Timberwolves hit the road for Game 3 of the 2024 Western Conference Finals Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks hoping to avoid a 3-0 hole. The Timberwolves lost two close games at home and will look to shake off some of their late-game woes here. Minnesota will be hoping to channel some of what the Nuggets did in the previous round, as the defending champions won three games in a row after losing the first two as the home side.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Timberwolves player prop bets to target for Game 3 Sunday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Karl-Anthony Towns over 19.5 points (-118)
Towns didn’t play for a good chunk of Game 2 thanks to Naz Reid’s hot shooting but the Timberwolves big man has not been at his best. He’s shooting just 27.8% from the floor after hitting 51.7% of his shots entering this series. That’s a substantial drop, and Towns is still coming close to getting over this line. In this situation, the Timberwolves need him to step and I think he does so offensively. Towns has too much talent to stay down this long and I like him to go over this line with a more efficient showing in Game 3.
Anthony Edwards over 37.5 points + rebounds + assists (-120)
It’s hard to believe scoring has been an issue for Edwards. He’s experiencing a slump similar to Towns, shooting 33.3% from the floor through two games. The rebounds and assists have been there for Edwards as he’s combining for 15.5 of those per game. The question will be whether he can finally deliver a strong scoring performance. I expect Edwards to be more aggressive while also being smart about picking his spots, attempting to find some balance with Towns when both are on the floor. I see him going over this mark in what is effectively a must-win game for Minnesota.
Mike Conley under 2.5 3-pointers (-175)
Conley has been more deliberate about attacking the basket instead of hoisting from the perimeter. There seems to be a bit of a rotating cast of shooters for Minnesota who get hot in this series. It was Jaden McDaniels in Game 1 and Reid in Game 2, so maybe Conley does get hot here in Game 3. However, I think he stays under this line and focuses more on setting up teammates. As the veteran, Conley knows the importance of details and execution in clutch situations. He’ll be focused on making the best play, which will likely be finding the open man instead of chucking from the perimeter himself.
