The Minnesota Timberwolves will look to recover from a close loss in Game 1 of the 2024 Western Conference Finals when they host the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 Friday night. This isn’t necessarily a must-win situation for Minnesota but going down 2-0 before heading on the road is not a place the Timberwolves want to be.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Timberwolves player prop bets to target for Game 2 Friday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Anthony Edwards over 39.5 points + rebounds + assists (-112)
If you take away Edwards’ production from deep in Game 1, he shot just 1-4 from inside the perimeter. That’s unacceptable for a player with his ability, and the Mavericks will consider that a win. Edwards, who looked spent due to his defensive effort, will have to be more aggressive in Game 2. I think he delivers a signature performance offensively while maintaining his rebounding numbers. Despite scoring just 19 points, Edwards went for 38 PRA in Game 1. He should get to 40 tonight.
Naz Reid over 1.5 3-pointers (+105)
Reid hit three triples in Game 1 in a nice comeback effort after struggling from deep to close the series against the Nuggets. He’s had success from the perimeter against the Mavericks and I expect that to continue in Game 2. The Sixth Man of the Year has gone over this mark five times in 12 playoff games and he has rediscovered his touch a bit after shooting just 18.8% from deep over the last five games against Denver. I’l back him to go over this line once again in Game 2.
Rudy Gobert under 12.5 rebounds (-142)
I don’t think Gobert will have a poor game on the boards again but I do see him going under this mark. The Mavericks big men have stepped up to the challenge and were extremely effective in Game 1, getting some help from P.J. Washington and Luka Doncic on the glass. Gobert did go under this mark in three of the four games against Dallas during the regular season, so the Mavericks do have experience limiting him. I’ll take the under on his rebounding line once again.
