The Boston Celtics will hope to avoid the same fate they met in Game 2s against the Heat and Cavaliers Thursday evening when they host the Indiana Pacers once again in the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics were able to grab an overtime win in Game 1 thanks to Jaylen Brown’s late heroics and will look to put together a more comprehensive performance in this contest.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Celtics player prop bets to target for Game 2 Thursday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Jayson Tatum over 10.5 rebounds (-108)
This has become one of the most profitable player props in the postseason. Tatum has been attacking the glass regularly, and he should continue to do so with Kristaps Porzingis sidelined. The forward hasn’t been shooting as well as he’d like from the perimeter and although he did manage to drop 36 points in Game 1, it’s been his rebounding which has anchored Boston defensively. Tatum has gone over this mark in seven of the 11 playoff games and two of the unders came at 10 boards. He should go over this mark again Thursday night.
Al Horford under 2.5 3-pointers (-166)
Horford managed to hit three triples in Game 1, but that was largely because he took 12 shots from the perimeter. He’s unlikely to do that again, especially after his performance in the opener. Horford has gone over this mark three times in the last five games but is shooting just 30.6% from the perimeter in the playoffs. After two games where he took 25 combined shots from deep, I think Horford doesn’t fire at will as much and stays under this line.
Jrue Holiday over 4.5 assists (-148)
The veteran guard has his best scoring performance of the postseason with 28 points in Game 1. It’ll be tempting to back him to have another good showing in the points category but he’s been more consistent with distributing the ball. Holiday has logged 5+ assists in three of the last four games, including eight assists in Game 1. The Celtics should make a few more threes in Game 2, which could help Holiday out a bit when it comes to going over this line.
