The 2024 NCAA Division I softball tournament continues on this week with Super Regionals beginning on Thursday, May 23. 16 teams will be paired up in a best-of-three series over the weekend and the eight winners will advance to the Women’s College World Series, beginning on Friday, May 30 from Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
The tournament has been chalky so far as 14 of the 16 ranked national seeds all won their respective regional tournaments last weekend. No. 1 Texas walked through the Austin Regional, outscoring opponents 26-2 over the course of three games. Meanwhile, three-time defending champions and No. 2 Oklahoma took one step closer to a four-peat by running through the Norman Regional.
The only two unranked teams to make it through were Arizona, who made it out of the Fayetteville Regional and Baylor, who edged No. 13 Louisiana in the Lafayette Regional.
