The Minnesota Timberwolves are back in the conference finals for the first time in 20 years and they’ll be hosting Game 1 Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks as the higher seed in this matchup. The Timberwolves are seeking their first Finals appearance in franchise history and will look to set the tone after winning Game 1s in both their previous series.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Timberwolves player prop bets to target for Game 1 Wednesday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Anthony Edwards over 27.5 points (-130)
The Timberwolves star forward has been sublime in Games 1 so far. He went for 33 points in the opener against the Suns before dropping 43 on the road in Game 1 against the defending champions Nuggets. Edwards did have two duds against Dallas during the regular but balanced those out with two outstanding scoring efforts. I think he continues to be aggressive as Minnesota looks to grab Game 1 in this series. He should go over this line.
Naz Reid over 1.5 3-pointers (+114)
It’s been an interesting postseason for Reid from behind the arc. He’s gone over this line four times despite shooting just 31.8% from the perimeter in these playoffs, but all four instances came in the first six games. However, the Sixth Man of the Year has had plenty of success hitting triples against the Mavericks. Reid went over this line in three of the four regular season meetings against Dallas, connecting on 56% of his attempts. After a rough stretch of games lately, I see Reid bouncing back by canning at least two triples tonight.
Rudy Gobert over 12.5 rebounds (-120)
Gobert bagged yet another Defensive Player of the Year honor this season behind dominant rebounding numbers. He is averaging 10.9 rebounds per game in 10 playoff games but this is easily the best matchup he’ll have. After battling rebounding monsters like Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic in the previous two rounds, Gobert now gets Daniel Gafford and rookie Dereck Lively. Even though he went under this line in three of the four meetings against Dallas, I think Gobert dominates the interior and goes over this line Wednesday.
