The Western Conference Finals get underway on Wednesday night and it will see Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and the Mavericks take on Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves.

How do Boogie Cousins and Isaiah Thomas think it’s going to go? They shared their thoughts alongside Rachel Nichols on the latest episode of Bully Ball.
I.T. says he thinks it’s going to be a good series, noting that Ant-Man has already said he matchup is going to be Kyrie. I.T. says that kind of energy rubs off on your teammates. He also says that Luka and Kyrie is going to be something special in the West finals after putting things together against a tough OKC team. However, he also says there’s something about these Timberwolves where they’re not afraid of seemingly anything. I.T. says they’re really accepting the challenge of anybody and everybody PLUS they’re standing on business. He’s going with Minnesota, but he thinks the series goes six or seven games with a lot of back-and-forth action.
Boogie says he’s a firm believer that defense wins championships. He feels like the best defensive team coming out of the West is the Minnesota Timberwolves. Boogie says this series is another opportunity for Jaden McDaniels to display his defensive talent and that matchup between him and Luka will explain a lot as he’ll make the game very tough for Luka. Boogie doesn’t think Luka is used to that type of defensive matchup.
Boogie says what helped Dallas get by OKC, aside from the play of their stars, was the big-man matchup — their bigs just had way more experience than OKC’s bigs. That won’t be the case when it comes to Minnesota. The Wolves’ bigs are the real deal, even if they aren’t necessarily as dominant. In the end, Boogie says he sees Minnesota coming out of the West, also in six or seven games like I.T. predicted.
