Teddy Ricketson’s 2024 MLB Player Prop record: 60-38-5
Sunday record (2-1): Corbin Burnes needed to pitch six full innings against the Seattle Mariners to hit the over on her recorded outs prop and was able just to hit it, lasting six innings before being pulled. Spencer Arrighetti notched his second win of the season, but allowed seven hits over 6.1 innings easily clearing his four hit alternate line. The day’s lone miss was Seiya Suzuki not finishing with a single. He went hitless as he had a sacrifice fly, walked, was hit by a pitch, and struck out in the bottom of the eighth.
MLB player prop bets: Tuesday, May 21
Javier Assad, over 4.5 strikeouts (+110)
Assad will start his 10th game of the season on Tuesday and his second in a row against the Atlanta Braves. He pitched six scoreless innings against them last week and struck out seven. Atlanta averages 8.8 strikeouts per game and has struck out at least five times to the opposing starter in four of its last five games.
Brandon Pfaadt, under 17.5 outs recorded (+100)
Pfaadt and the Arizona Diamondbacks will face the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. The Dodgers are riding a four-game hit streak. The Arizona starter enters with a 1-3 record and a 4.17 ERA. Despite the amount of runs that he has allowed, he still has pitched at least six innings in four straight starts. I think the under hits due to how well the Dodgers are hitting right now and that they have a tendency of dragging out at-bats and forcing starters into high pitch counts early. Pfaadt should be bounced before pitching six full innings.
Alex Bregman, over 0.5 hits (-265)
Bregman has had a down year so far, hitting just .220 through 45 games. If the season were to end today, it would be a career-low batting average for the Houston Astros third baseman. He needs a spark and it could come on Tuesday against Los Angeles Angeles starter Griffin Canning. Bregman has seen him well in his career, entering Tuesday’s contest 6-10 with a home run and four RBI against the righty. He went hitless in the series opener on Monday, but should tally a base knock on Tuesday.
