The MLB is back with a loaded 15-game schedule for Sunday, May 19. Every team is expected to be in action — weather permitting — which gives ample opportunities for bettors to look through an abundance of odds and lines to try and find an advantage. Here are our best MLB player prop bets, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Teddy Ricketson’s 2024 MLB Player Prop record: 58-37-5
Friday recap (3-0): Paul Skenes dominated in his second career start, striking out 11 hitters and nearly doubling his alternate strikeout line of 6+. Ryan Feltner walked two batters in the first two innings to hit his prop, which was lucky since he only pitched four innings total. Tarik Skubal got more run support than he could ask for as the Detroit Tigers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 13-0. The starter struck out six, perfectly hitting the over on his 5.5 line.
MLB player prop bets: Sunday, May 19
Corbin Burnes, over 17.5 outs recorded (-140)
Burnes will make his 10th start of the season on Sunday and his first against the Seattle Mariners. So far, he has recorded at least 18 outs (six innings of work) in six of his nine appearances this year. Grayson Rodriguez and John Means both made it through six full innings already in this series, and Burnes should follow suit.
Spencer Arrighetti, 4+ hits allowed (-255)
Arrighetti will start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. The Houston Astros’ rookie pitcher has struggled this season and enters with a 1-4 record and a 7.52 ERA. He has allowed 35 hits in 26.1 innings of work and at least four in each of his six starts. His teammates Justin Verlander and Hunter Brown each allowed four hits in their starts this weekend, and Arrighetti should join them in the series finale.
Seiya Suzuki, over 0.5 singles (-125)
I think that Suzuki will pick up at least one hit on Sunday. He has -230 odds to do so, but I’m risking better odds to have a more specific result. Unfortunately, if his hit is a double, triple, or home run, this bet will miss, but I think that he is due for at least one single. Suzuki is 4-7 with a double against Pittsburgh Pirates starter Mitch Keller. He didn’t allow a run in his last start, but gave up eight hits. Suzuki went hitless on Saturday, but in the last five games that he has tallied at least one hit, he has at least one single in each game.
