Opening week of the 2024 WNBA season will continue on Saturday and the first game on the schedule will feature the Indiana Fever visiting the New York Liberty. This will be the second game of back-to-back matchups between these two squads. Today’s game will tip off at 1 p.m. ET and will air on ABC.
New York (2-0) hammered Indiana (0-2) in their first matchup on Thursday, cruising to a 102-66 road victory. This was thorough domination as the Liberty never trailed, ending the night +14 in rebounds and +20 in points in the paint. Reigning MVP Breanna Stewart shined with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Fever struggled for a second straight game out the gate as they shot just 36.7% from the field. Caitlin Clark had just nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists while Aliyah Boston led the team in scoring with just 12 points.
New York enters the game as 14-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, accompanied by a total of 168.5. The Liberty are listed as a -1600 moneyline favorite, making the Fever a +900 underdog.

Will Indiana get its first victory during the Caitlin Clark era? Most likely not this afternoon, but the team can show glimpses of promise and not let this game completely snowball like Thursday’s 36-point beatdown. Still, New York is the more seasoned team with two former MVP’s in Stewart and Jonquel Jones dominating in the post. And I haven’t even mentioned Sabrina Ionescu, who has yet to heat up from downtown. Give me the Liberty to cover as a home favorite.

Over bettors were kicking themselves on Thursday as the under barely cashed with a final total of 168. I don’t anticipate Indiana being as cold from the field this afternoon, so I’ll stick to my guns and choose the over once again.
