The Minnesota Vikings’ full 2024 schedule is out, and they open against the Giants in Week 1 at MetLife Stadium. The Vikings start afresh with quarterback JJ McCarthy this year. Six-year starter Kirk Cousins signed with the Falcons in the offseason, and Minnesota used the 10th overall pick of the draft to select the Michigan signal-caller. They also signed QB Sam Darnold to a one-year contract. The Vikings are projected to finish at the bottom of the NFC North this season after going 7-10 and missing the playoffs in 2023.
The Vikings signed running back Aaron Jones out of Minnesota in the offseason after releasing Alexander Mattison. They filled out their defense with new contracts going to linebackers Jonathan Greenard, Blake Cashman, Jihad Ward, and Andrew Van Ginkel, and to defensive end Jonah Williams. They lost Pro Bowler Danielle Hunter to the Texans in the offseason. After McCarthy, the Vikings added linebacker Dallas Turner out of Alabama and CB Khyree Jackson out of Oregon in the draft.
