The Denver Nuggets visit the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6 Thursday with a chance to close out the series and move on to the Western Conference Finals. After dropping the first two games at home, the Nuggets have flexed their championship muscles with three wins in a row. Only five teams prior to Denver have come back from losing the first two games at home to go on and win the playoff series, with the 2021 Clippers being the most recent example.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Nuggets player prop bets to target for Game 6 Thursday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Nikola Jokic over 29.5 points (-118)
The league MVP and reigning Finals MVP has completely turned things around in this series. Even though he went over this line in Game 1 with 32 points, he only shot 11-25 from the field and was 2-9 from deep. Over the last three games, Jokic is averaging 33 points per game on 60.6% shooting. He’s gone over this mark in the last two contests and shows no signs of slowing down as Denver goes for the kill. The big man has finally woken up and he should continue to dominate in Thursday’s game.
Aaron Gordon over 4.5 assists (+145)
One of the big changes Denver made from Games 1 and 2 was giving Gordon more usage, specifically when bringing the ball up the court. This has freed up guys like Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray to move off the ball more and get better looks. Gordon has become the difference maker in this series and his assist numbers are reflecting that. He’s gone over this line four times in five games, including the last three. I like him to keep up his play in Game 6.
Michael Porter Jr. under 5.5 rebounds (+114)
Porter Jr. was the second best player for the Nuggets in the first round but has become more of a peripheral guy in this series with the rise of Gordon. He did manage to grab seven rebounds in Game 5 but has gone under this line in three of the five games in this matchup. With Jokic, Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns and Gordon dominating the glass, it’s hard to see Porter Jr. get over this mark in Game 6. I’ll take the under here.
