The Knicks are a fluke?!? Fuhgettaboutit!

The Knicks rolled in Tuesday’s Game 5, 121-91, to push the Pacers to the brink of elimination in their Eastern Conference semifinals series.

Comedian Sam Morril, commissioner of fandom and senior Knicks correspondent, joined The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz on Wednesday to talk all about it and clap back a bit at Draymond Green.

Despite being a huge Knicks fan, Morril was actually NOT in attendance on Tuesday night. Why you may ask? He simply gets too nervous, he says, he’s not fun to watch a game with. He says he will be there if there is Game 7 in this series, but truthfully he doesn’t want there to be one.

Dan points out that Sam had been fairly confident to this point, even believing the Knicks could take out the Celtics, so what happened? Sam says he simply forgot that Jalen Brunson is like King Henry V and he doesn’t need to have his full force — he can be outnumbered with a depleted army and still win the war. Seriously though, Sam notes that the Knicks are down four key players at this point, which makes things nerve-wracking despite the fact New York is the better team. It’s the injuries that have left his confidence shaken. He says losing OG Anunoby was a big blow because the Knicks had to adjust and play a small ball lineup, which worked out with Deuce McBride and Alec Burks.

Meanwhile, Sam wants to talk about Draymond Green’s comments calling the Knicks a “fluke.” Draymond’s analysis brought out a strong retort from Sam imploring Dray to just let Knicks fans enjoy their first joy in some time.
