The Cleveland Cavaliers are hoping to stave off elimination when they visit the Boston Celtics in Game 5 Wednesday evening, facing a 3-1 deficit. The Cavaliers are also potentially going to be without star guard Donovan Mitchell, who sat out Game 4 due to a calf injury. The Celtics are trying to advance to their third straight conference finals.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite player prop bets to target for Game 5 Wednesday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Evan Mobley over 15.5 points (-110)
The odds have finally shifted on this prop, which Mobley has gone over in every game so far this series. He hasn’t topped it by a huge margin though, which is why the line itself hasn’t moved. Cleveland’s big man has plenty of reasons to show out offensively with the main one being the chance to extend the series, but he’s also trying to show Mitchell there’s some upside in remaining with the Cavaliers. I think Mobley continues to go over on his points prop.
Derrick White over 2.5 3-pointers (-112)
In the first six playoff games, White shot 50% from deep. That has dropped to 25% over the last three games. He has gone over this line five times in the postseason so far, with two unders coming at two made triples. I think White, along with some of the other Celtics starters, got into a habit of taking threes even when they weren’t the best shot for the early part of this series. I do think Boston plays with better spacing in Game 5 and White gets better looks from deep. In the closeout game against Miami, White canned five triples. He should get over this line Wednesday.
Darius Garland over 5.5 assists (-148)
Just like Mobley, Garland is effectively giving Mitchell an audition on why he should stay with Cleveland. The point guard has topped this line in the last two games, including a seven-assist showing in Game 4. While Garland will still look for his own shot, he’s been solid in the two-man game with Mobley. I think the Cavaliers continue to lean on the two youngsters offensively, especially if Mitchell isn’t in the lineup again. Garland should be able to get to at least six assists in Game 5.
Jayson Tatum over 10.5 rebounds (+120)
Tatum needed the entire contest to get past this line in Game 4, snagging a few rebounds late in the fourth quarter to get to 11. He’s gone over this line three times in the series, logging double-digit rebounds in all of Boston’s wins. It’s quite clear the Celtics are successful when Tatum crashes the glass hard, and the star forward has answered that call. He should keep dominating on the glass tonight as Boston looks to close out the series. Tatum logged 12 rebounds in Boston’s Game 5 victory over Miami in the first round.
