The MLB is back in action with a loaded 15-game schedule for Wednesday, May 15. This full day of games presents bettors with an overabundance of lines and odds to sift through, trying to find an advantage. To help you out, here are our best MLB player prop bets for Wednesday’s slate, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Teddy Ricketson’s 2024 MLB Player Prop record: 50-36-5
Tuesday recap (2-1): Ty France needed just one hit for his player prop yesterday and picked it up in the bottom of the eighth inning. San Diego Padres starter Dylan Cease took the loss against the Colorado Rockies but struck out eight over 5.2 innings of work, easily clearing his alternate strikeout line of six. The lone miss was Ronel Blanco missing his outs recorded line. He needed to pitch six innings and was ejected in the fourth for a foreign substance on his glove. Blanco did have 54 pitches through three innings so he may have fallen short anyway, but still, a tough way to lose a prop.
MLB player prop bets: Wednesday, May 15
Garrett Crochet, 6+ strikeouts (-180)
Crochet has settled down as a starter recently, notching back-to-back wins. The southpaw has punched out at least six batters in four straight games and five of his last six. He will take on the Washington Nationals on Wednesday, which averages 8.20 strikeouts per game. Chicago starter Erick Fedde struck out six on Tuesday, and Crochet should be able to strike out at least six on Wednesday.
Alec Marsh, 5+ strikeouts (-285)
Marsh and the Kansas City Royals will take on the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. Seattle’s lineup averages the most strikeouts per game (10.35). So far in this series, Brady Singer struck out six hitters in five innings, and Michael Wacha punched out seven over six innings. Marsh struck out seven in his last start and has at least five strikeouts in two of his last three starts.
Ranger Suarez, over 18.5 outs recorded (+120)
Suarez has been one of the best pitchers in the league this year and heads into Wednesday’s start against the New York Mets with a 7-0 record and a 1.55 ERA. He would need to pitch at least 6.1 innings for this prop to hit. Suarez has recorded at least 19 outs in four of his last five starts and as long as his pitch count doesn’t get away from him early, should be able to do it again on Wednesday.
