The Chicago White Sox are looking to climb out of last place in the American League Central standings and will look to the new and improved Erick Fedde to get them to the winner’s circle on Tuesday when they play at home against the Washington Nationals.

Fedde spent the early portion of his MLB career with the Nationals, registering a 21-53 record with a 5.41 ERA and seven strikeouts to 3.8 walks per nine innings from 2017-22.
Last season, Fedde went to the Korean Baseball Organization to play for the NC Dinos and posted a 20-6 with a 2.00 ERA, getting 10.4 strikeouts to just 1.7 walks per nine innings and has had that translate to an improved second stint at the MLB level.
In eight starts this season, Fedde has a 3.00 ERA while getting 8.8 strikeouts to 2.8 walks per nine innings and enters having allowed two runs or fewer in four of his past five starts.
On the other side, Mitchell Parker gets the start on the mound for Washington, who has yet to allow more than three runs in his five career starts, posting a 2.57 ERA and 3.02 fielding interceptions with just five walks and two home runs allowed in his 27 innings pitched this season.
Parker also gets the luxury of facing a White Sox lineup that entered Monday averaging a full half run less per game than any other MLB team with 2.9 runs per game while also ranking last in home runs.
The Nationals lineup has had its own run production issues, ranking 19th in the league entering Monday in runs per game and 22nd in home runs per game.
Both starting pitchers are backed up by formidable bullpens with the Nationals entering the series 11th in the league in bullpen ERA and the White Sox 17th in this category.
With both teams throwing starters that Gabe Bern better than expected coupled with both offenses having had plenty of issues thus far in 2014, runs will be at a premium in The Windy City on Tuesday.
