Game 4 action continues in the 2024 NBA Playoffs Monday with two contests. The Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers will square off in the first game before the Dallas Mavericks host the Oklahoma City Thunder in the nightcap. The Celtics and Mavericks hold 2-1 edges in these series, but the Cavaliers and Thunder will look to get back with wins Monday. Even though stars will have to shine, it’s often role players who make the difference in these games. Will they be able to make a difference in your DFS lineups tonight?
In NBA DFS, you can find quality value plays $5K or under that can give you a quick 10 points off the bench, grab some rebounds, or stuff the stat sheet. We are going to provide you with four players that you need to put in your lineup.
Lu Dort, Thunder, $4,800
Josh Giddey ($4,700) is another starter who has seen his price point drop below $5k, but Dort has consistently been in this range. He doesn’t have a high ceiling, although there’s a great floor given his role in this team. Dort is averaging 19.8 fantasy points per game in this series and if he can hit a few more triples, he’ll gives managers a bit more to cheer about. The Mavericks have been great defensively but they do rank 23rd in fantasy points allowed to opposing small forwards. Maybe Dort finally exploits that matchup tonight.
Caris LeVert, Cavaliers, $4,600
LeVert has been a boost off the bench over the last four games for Cleveland. The guard is averaging 26.3 fantasy points per game, topping 30 fantasy points in two of those outings. The Cavaliers will continue to rely on their combo guard for scoring and he might even get more playing time if Darius Garland continues to struggle. It’s a tough matchup against Boston’s defense but LeVert is worth backing in his current form.
Dean Wade, Cavaliers, $3,400
The price point is excellent for Wade, who came back after a long absence with 15.8 fantasy points in Game 3. He’s bound to get more run as Cleveland searches for offense outside of Donovan Mitchell, and Wade is one of the few other big men the Cavaliers can throw into the lineup. There’s some upside with Wade’s perimeter shot and he does have a history of torching the Celtics this season. I like him at under $3.5k as a value add.
Tim Hardaway Jr., Mavericks, $3,700
At some point, P.J. Washington will slow down as a scorer. That’ll potentially open up some opportunities for Hardaway Jr., who has gotten back into the rotation. After logging just 4.5 fantasy points in Game 1, the Dallas wing has slowly found his footing. He’ll occasionally have some rough showings because he’s so reliant on the three-point shot going down for value but that’s the risk with a player in this price range. I think he’s worth taking a chance on in Game 4.
