The Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks will get Saturday’s playoff slate started with Game 3 tipping off in the afternoon from Texas. The Mavericks achieved the split they wanted in the first two games and will now look to grab the series lead, while the Thunder hope to bounce back from a close loss in Game 2.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite player prop bets to target for Game 3 Saturday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Chet Holmgren over 1.5 3-pointers (-108)
The big man has hit at least one triple in each playoff game, going over this line three times in six contests. The Mavericks have been willing to give him the deep shot on several occasions, and now it’s time for Holmgren to prove he can knock it down. He shot a respectable 37% from the perimeter over the regular season and went over this mark in Game 1. After a rough outing in Game 2, I think Holmgren is able to sink a few from behind the arc in Game 3.
Luka Doncic under 50.5 points + rebounds + assists (-120)
I expect Doncic to play even though he’s officially being listed as questionable. He’s gone under this line in both games so far this series and is attempting to find a good balance between being aggressive and deferring to teammates. Kyrie Irving tends to heat up in the second half, which limits Doncic’s influence overall when it comes to accumulating stats. While his ability to easily clear this line is not in doubt, I think he stays under here as the Mavericks try to stay balanced after seeing how that worked in Game 2.
Josh Giddey over 2.5 assists (+136)
Giddey was effectively benched in Game 2, playing just about 11 minutes in the loss. He’s the type of player who should bounce back from that kind of performance, although his scoring has taken a major hit in these playoffs. I still think he’ll be involved in Oklahoma City’s offense enough to get to three assists. Giddey went over this line in the first three games of the playoffs but has gone under since then. I think he bounces back Saturday afternoon on the assist front.
P.J. Washington under 6.5 rebounds (-130)
It’s tempting to look at the over here after Washington pulled down 11 rebounds in his breakout Game 2 performance, but he has gone under this line in six of the team’s eight playoff games so far. The forward is an important rotation piece for the Mavericks due to his defensive versatility, but he really takes a step up if his three-point shot is falling. I do think he falls back to Earth a bit in Game 3, and that includes his production on the glass. I like the under here.
