The Minnesota Timberwolves return home for Game 3 of their second-round series against the Denver Nuggets Friday after dominating on the road, looking to grab a commanding 3-0 lead in the series and send a message to the rest of the league. The Timberwolves were without Defensive Player of the Year winner Rudy Gobert in Game 2 due to personal reasons. Here’s the latest on his status for Game 3 Friday.
Rudy Gobert updates
Gobert missed Game 2 due to the birth of his child, and was unable to figure out the logistics of getting to Denver for the contest. With three days off between Games 2 and 3, there was plenty of time for Gobert to take care of family matters before returning to the court. He’s been taken off the official injury report and is good to go for this contest.
The Timberwolves looked fine without Gobert, although he offers some great rim protection and size down low to defend league MVP Nikola Jokic which Minnesota does need. We’ll see if Gobert can slide right into this rotation without any hiccups as the Timberwolves attempt to set up an opportunity to sweep the defending champions.
