Game 3 between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves will take place Friday evening with the Timberwolves holding a 2-0 edge as the series shifts to Minnesota. The home side can go up 3-0 and effectively close the book on the defending champions, but the Nuggets have the talent and experience to fight back in this matchup.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite player prop bets to target for Game 3 Friday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Nikola Jokic triple-double (+175)
It’s now or never for the Nuggets big man, who just captured his third league MVP honor. None of that matters if Denver gets waxed again in Game 3. Jokic hasn’t been efficient in this series so far but he’s only five combined assists and rebounds away from having two triple-doubles. Rudy Gobert is returning for this contest after missing Game 2 so that makes things a bit tougher for Jokic but he should show some type of pushback after being dominated in the first two games.
Anthony Edwards over 27.5 points (-120)
On the flip side of Jokic, Minnesota’s young superstar has taken over the playoffs. Edwards went off in last year’s first-round series against Denver but it didn’t result in wins. This time the Timberwolves are healthier and more connected defensively, which means Edwards’ individual brilliance on the offensive end is enough to carry the squad. He went just under this line in the Game 2 blowout with 27 points but has been largely showing out in the playoffs. Edwards should get past this line behind a raucous home crowd.
Jamal Murray over 5.5 assists (-130)
Murray is officially listed as questionable but should suit up after narrowly avoiding a suspension thanks to his Game 2 antics. At some point, both he and the Nuggets have to realize his shot is off. That means he might not be as effective in the midrange but should continue to have some efficiency in the pick-and-roll game with Jokic. Murray should be looking to set up others for most of the game before turning things on in crunch time, where he has remained lethal this postseason. I think he goes over this line after two subpar showings at home.
Mike Conley over 1.5 3-pointers (-162)
Conley failed to make a triple in the postseason opener against the Suns. He then shot 47.8% from deep over the next four games, going over this line every time. The veteran guard then failed to make both of his attempts from the perimeter in the last game against the Nuggets. His efficiency from deep doesn’t change much based on location, so that’s a good sign he’ll bounce back in this game. I like Conley to can a couple triples Friday evening.
