Best home run bets: Thursday, May 9

Juan Soto vs. Astros (+320)

The Yankees outfielder will face Astros pitcher Ronel Blanco. Blanco had a strong start to the season, but has let up four home runs in his last three starts. Soto has nine home runs under his belt this season and recorded one homer, three hits, and five RBI for the Yankees in Wednesday’s game.

Josh Naylor vs. White Sox (+400)

The Cleveland Guardians face the struggling White Sox on Thursday, and Erick Fedde will take the mound for the Southsiders. Fedde has already let up seven home runs this season, and has let up more than one homer in multiple games. He has allowed a home run in each of his last two starts. Naylor has hit nine out of the park this season and could get into the double-digits club early here.

Taylor Ward vs. Royals (+450)

Ward ranks second on the Angels in home runs hit in 2024. He sits behind Mike Trout, who recently underwent surgery on his knee and is out for the foreseeable future. Michael Wacha starts on the mound for the Royals on Thursday. Wacha has struggled to control the ball on the road — all four home runs that he has given up this season have come in away games. The Angels host the series.
