Is Caitlin Clark’s debut going to Disney+ another sign of sports’ streaming future?

As we continue to wait for final word on whether TNT will keep its NBA rights, we’ve learned how we’ll be able to watch Caitlin Clark make her WNBA debut … on the Disney+ streaming platform?

The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz shared their thoughts on Wednesday.

Dan says this, combined with the fact that WNBA players are now set to get chartered flights, shows the economy of the league is changing. Jeremy does note that Clark’s game will also be shown on ESPN2, so it’s not fully behind a streaming paywall. But, it is still a change to see live sports head to the Disney+ platform.

Dan wonders why anyone would go to Disney+ when they could just watch the game on ESPN2, but Stugotz points out that there are plenty of cord-cutters who may not have access to ESPN2 anymore. Mike says they’ve found a way to get our money, which is ridiculous. He points out that as a sports fan, he can’t NOT have one of the streaming services now, because they’re all going to have live sports. Not to mention, he still has to have some version of cable for all the games that still reside there. It’s insane!
