The 2024 Wells Fargo Championship tees off this week from Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tournament has been designated as one of the PGA TOUR’s signature events, which means that the field is limited to just 70 golfers and there will not be a cut. Only the best of the best are invited to compete in signature events, which also feature an increased prize purse. The Wells Fargo Championship runs from Thursday, May 9 through Sunday, May 12.
Here are our top picks to win it all. All odds are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Max Homa +2200
Homa is a two-time Wells Fargo winner, taking home the title in both 2019 and 2022. He finished with a T8 in 2023, and while his results have been varied to start off 2024, Homa has fared well in a few signature events and majors this year. He finished with a T3 at the Masters and a T8 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, though he missed the cut at the Phoenix Open and finished T55 at the RBC Heritage. Given his success on this course in the past, I like Homa to have a shot on Sunday at Quail Hollow.
Justin Thomas +2200
Justin Thomas has been quietly creeping up the ranks in 2024. He ranks 11th in the field in total strokes gained over the last three months and his T5 finish at the RBC Heritage last week seems to have shaken him out of a three-tournament skid that included two missed cuts and a T64 finish. He grabbed a T14 at last year’s Wells Fargo, and could find himself back atop the podium at Quail Hollow this week.
Tommy Fleetwood +2500
Fleetwood has been holding his own in big-name tournaments this year. He finished the Genesis Invitational with a T10 and the Masters with a T3. Fleetwood finished in the top five at last year’s Wells Fargo, and ranks ninth in total strokes gained over the last 30 days. He also ranks fourth in SG: Tee to Green and sixth in SG: Off the Tee in that same time frame. It has felt like Fleetwood is teetering right on the edge of a win for the last few months, and this could put him over the edge.
