Cincinnati Reds vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
The Pick: Reds Team Total over 3.5 runs -125
Zac Gallen is taking the mound in Cincinnati tonight, which is the key factor for me targeting this team total. Gallen continues to showcase some egregious home/road splits that I cannot ignore. At home, he’s been untouchable. He’s thrown 17 innings allowing just one run on 10 hits with a .244 wOBA and a 0.53 ERA. On the road, he’s thrown 15 innings allowing 11 runs on 20 hits with a .377 wOBA and a 6.60 ERA. This continues a trend we saw last year, where he was great at home but not on the road. The Reds offense has been slumping lately, they really struggled to get runs across against the Orioles. However, I’m more than comfortable with going with something we’ve seen for over a year now with Gallen.
The Diamondbacks bullpen has also logged a lot of work lately. Over the past week, they’ve thrown 26.2 innings, which is the 5th most in the league over that span. They’ve produced a 4.39 ERA in that period along with a 4.3 BB/9. I think the Reds’ bats can get back on track tonight.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Chicago White Sox
The Pick: Rays Team Total over 4.5 runs -115
Taking the over on a team total against the White Sox feels like a daily activity at this point. When you’re allowing an average of 5.4 runs per game, that’s going to happen. When they send Mike Soroka to the mound, that makes it even better! Soroka has allowed 24 runs through his 33.1 innings of work this season, giving him a 6.48 ERA with a 6.75 xERA. Both sides of the plate have been hitting him hard, as he has a .391 wOBA against lefties and a .369 wOBA against righties. Coming into today, the Rays are averaging 4.9 runs per game at home, which is the 8th best mark in the league. This White Sox bullpen continues to be overworked and has thrown a total of 50 innings in the past two weeks. Over that span, they spot a 5.60 ERA, which is one of the highest in the league.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins
The Pick: Yoshinobu Yamamoto over 6.5 strikeouts -115
After a very rough start to his MLB career in South Korea, Yamamoto has been dominant. He’s allowed just seven runs through 33 innings after the South Korea start with 40 strikeouts. Tonight, the Dodgers will host the Marlins and I’m looking to target his strikeout prop. Yamamoto focuses mainly on three types of pitches, a four seamer, curveball and a split finger, as he throws those a combined 93% of the time. His uses the curveball and split finger as his main put away pitches and has a 35 and 37% whiff rate on those respectively. Focusing on the curve and splitter, the Marlins have a combined 26% K% on those pitches while slashing just .205/.245/.348 through 140 plate appearances.
