The 2024 NHL Draft Lottery will take place on Tuesday, May 7, from the NHL Network studios in Secaucus, New Jersey, starting at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The lottery will determine the first 16 picks in the 2024 NHL Draft, which will take place in Las Vegas on June 28 with the first round. The San Jose Sharks possess the best odds to be awarded the first overall pick at 18.5 percent. Below is a full list of odds to win the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery and the No. 1 pick.
Last season, it was one of the more important lottery drawings since 2016, when now Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews was made the top overall pick. The year before that we saw the Edmonton Oilers take C Connor McDavid with the No. 1 pick. In 2023, the Chicago Blackhawks were awarded the top pick and selected soon-to-be Rookie of the Year Connor Bedard.
This season, whoever win the lottery will have the opportunity of selecting Boston University C Macklin Celebrini with the top pick. Unlike last year’s draft, who will be selected first overall is a bit more unclear. Celebrini is the top prospect but not necessarily a slam dunk to go first.
