UFC 301 gets going this Saturday, May 4 with a 14-fight card you won’t want to miss. The event takes place live from the Farmasi Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The highly anticipated card culminates in a flyweight title showdown between Alexandre Pantoja and Steve Erceg Hill.
The early preliminary card starts up at 6 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass followed by the prelims at 8 p.m. on ESPN 2/ESPN+. Main card coverage begins at 10 p.m. on ESPN+PPV.
There’ll be plenty of action starting with the early prelims where Ismael Bonfim clashes with Vinc Pichel at lightweight. The prelims feature emerging women’s strawweight Iasmin Lucindo taking on Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Joanderson Brito and Jack Shore close out the prelims in a featherweight showdown.
The fight of the night for most will be the return of Jose “Junior” Aldo. The former featherweight champion and UFC Hall of Fame inductee breaks his retirement to fight Jonathan Martinez in the co-main event.
In the main event, Pantoja looks to successfully defend his flyweight title for a second time. The 34-year-old defeated Brandon Moreno in July 2023 to capture the championship and followed that up with a title defense win over Brandon Royval at UFC 296. Ecreg is coming off a KO win over Matt Schnell in March. The challenger has a 12-1 record and hails from West Australia.
