Canelo’s resume speaks for itself. He’s a multiple world champion across four weight classes and currently one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport. Alvarez sits alone on top of the super middleweight division, dominating most of his competitors at 168 pounds. Last September, he out punched Jermell Charlo en route to an unanimous decision win.
Munguia was once WBO light middleweight champion and comes in with over 43 bouts of professional experience. The 27-year-old picked up a signature TKO win over John Ryder in January. Now, he gets the fight of a lifetime and an opportunity to face off with a fellow Mexican superstar.
