The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves will once again meet in the postseason, matching up in the second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs after taking care of business in the first round. These sides met in the first round last year, with the Nuggets winning that series 4-1 on their way to the franchise’s first championship.

Nuggets vs. Timberwolves series props
Timberwolves +1.5 games series spread (-135)
It’s tempting to believe the Nuggets will be able to run over the Timberwolves as easily as they did last season. However, Anthony Edwards has emerged as a superstar for Minnesota and his demeanor in the first round suggests he and this team believes its moment is now. Denver is in for a real test, and I believe this series will go the distance. I’ll take the Timberwolves on the series spread at a decent line.
Over 5.5 games in series (-160)
Last year’s series only went five games but for the reasons detailed above, I think this one goes the distance. The Nuggets have displayed tremendous efficiency in the clutch but did appear to be going through the motions in their series against the Lakers. I think the Timberwolves are motivated after last year’s first-round loss to Denver and could even take a game in the Mile High City to really send a message. While I do think Denver ultimately prevails in the series, I think over 5.5 games is easy money.
Nuggets to win series 4-3 (+330)
Any time you predict a series going to Game 7, there are several factors to consider. The Nuggets will be at home, and they are a juggernaut in that setting. They are also one of the best teams at clutch execution, which matters when the pressure is ramped up. Edwards might be the best player on the floor but I think the Nuggets have the better team overall and that’ll be the difference in Game 7. This is the most likely outcome according to the oddsmakers, and I’ll take it at this line.
