The NBA Playoffs are back in action Wednesday night!

The Celtics took care of business in Game 4 — despite losing Kristaps Porzingis for the forseeable future — in Miami to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Tonight, these squads head back to TD Garden, where Boston will look to finish the job.

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat — Game 5

Jrue Holiday Over 4.5 Assists (+120)

Holiday has been a passenger offensively for the majority of this series, allowing Tatum, Brown, Porzingis and White to do most of the heavy lifting on that side of the ball while shifting his focus to shutting down Tyler Herro.

I expect that to change tonight.

With Kristaps Porzingis out with a calf strain, there will be adjustments from both squads in Game 5. The Heat are likely going to run more zone, which they couldn’t do effectively with Porzingis on the floor due to his size advantage and floor-stretching abilities. As a result, the Celtics will have to put someone else in the middle of said zone. I anticipate that role being a timeshare between Holiday and Tatum, with the former assuming a bulk of the workload.

Playing the middle of the zone requires elite basketball IQ, which Holiday certainly has. It also isn’t a role that will result in many points outside of floaters off the turn, but it DOES tend to garner a bunch of assists.

Holiday has already quietly racked up six dimes in back-to-back games, which makes his line of 4.5 at plus-money seem like fantastic value. With Porzingis out, some might assume that Jrue will have to score more. That may be the case, but I expect his major bump to be in the playmaking department.
