The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers will in action once again Wednesday evening, with Game 5 giving both teams an opportunity to go up 3-2 in this first-round series. The Mavericks and Clippers are coming off an all-time thriller in Game 4, which gives fans high expectations for Game 5 and the rest of this series.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite player prop bets to target for Game 5 Wednesday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kyrie Irving over 25.5 points (-118)
Irving failed to score a single point in the first quarter of Game 4, which likely frustrated fans and bettors alike. He then proceeded to deliver one of his best scoring performances, going for 40 points and helping Dallas complete its comeback although it ultimately fell short in the contest. Irving has gone over this mark in two of the four games and with Luka Doncic still dealing with a knee issue, I believe the veteran point guard will take on a bigger scoring role for the rest of the series. Irving should top this mark tonight.
Paul George over 5.5 rebounds (-155)
In the two games this series without Kawhi Leonard, George pulled down six rebounds. In the two games with Leonard, he only managed seven combined rebounds. Leonard has been effectively shut down, so that means George will have to be more involved on the glass going forward. The Clippers star should continue to deliver offensively but it’s his work on the boards which could ultimately make the difference. I think he gets over this mark Wednesday.
James Harden over 3.5 3-pointers (+140)
Harden is hitting 50% of his shots from deep in this series. He’s gone over this mark three times over the four games, and is coming off a contest where he had four made triples. Harden is showcasing his ability to be a star when called upon, and the end of Game 4 was the best example of that. With free agency looming, I think Harden continues to stay hot from deep and push the Clippers to give him a long-term deal in the offseason. Look for him to go over this line once again.
Luka Doncic under 9.5 assists (-130)
This prop is a bit tricky, because two of Doncic’s unders in this series on this line have come at nine assists. The star guard dropped 10 dimes in Game 4, and could look to become more of a distributor as he battles a knee injury. I believe the Mavericks will try to slow things down like they did in Games 2 and 3 while giving Irving more usage, which will mean less chances for Doncic to record assists. It’ll be close because of his talent but I’ll take the under.
